Climax Line Info

The technical qualities of climax kite lines result from:

- using a high quality fibre
- using advanced braiding techniques
- using line enhancement processes                    

Most climax sport kite lines are manufactured from CORAMID. CORAMID is a high quality brand fibre among others such as Dyneema or Spectra. CORAMID has the same basic characteristics as these (i.e. melting point) but performs better in all other areas.

climax® lines are different to conventional sport kite lines. A special braiding technique, through and through impregnation and a special polishing process give braided climax lines their unique characteristics. The fibres have a tighter alignment and line surface becomes smoother and harder. A tighter braid reduces line cross-section by more than 50%. This results in a minimum of wind resistance (drag), and forces acting on your climax kite line are distributed more evenly among the individual fibres.

What is a daN

The correct term to indicate line strengths is daN (Deka-Newton)

1 daN is about the same in value as 1kp or 1kg or 2.2lbs.

Longer Line Length:

Note that 10daN/20lbs - 65daN/140lbs is usually available from stock from 100m up to 500m.
110daN/240lbs - 500daN/1100lbs are available on 100m spools sometimes 200m.
You will find that individual spools of 100m are continiously connected to each other, giving you a longer length in one piece.
Longer DACRON 110daN to 500daN to your specifications are available on request. Please eMail with your requirements and we have these made for you.

Custom lengths in bulk and or line sets are available on request.

Note: we supply you with some sleeving free of charge when you order line on spools.

climax PROTEC stands for PROTECtion. This line is the best you can get for sport kites, trick and free style kites and for those who enjoy team flying. Higher strength lines are suitable for power kiting and even kite surfing. We also supply these lines to people who go spear or kite fishing.
Completely impregnated with a special process.
Unmatched performance - Simply the best.

The LONG-LIFE LINE is based on the latest technology in line manufacturing.

Best used where fast and precise manoeuvres are required.
Great for Team and 4 Line precision - Allows control of your kite even after multiple wraps (and we mean loads of multiple!!!). Extremely slippery. Great for teams and 4 Line flyers.
Difficult to 'cut', due to 'CSP', even when crossed with other types of line, Protec is the toughest line available (bad for us as you won't need to replace your line for a long time to come ;-).

Advantages:
5 times higher abrasion resistance then Spectra or Dyneema lines due to CSP-technology. Individual fibres are sealed and protected before the braiding process starts.
Protec lines have an excellent aerodynamic behaviour 
Pre-stretched spools and winder sets (near 100% load). Once set - no need to ever touch them again.

 

Winder sets in other lengths are available on request. Please eMail your requirements for a quote.

Lines on spools are available in multiples of 100m.
Lets say you require 200m in one length forlonger line sets or to share with a friend.
This is no problem as individual spools are connected as one continuous lengths.
You would get 2 spools giving you a total of 200m in 1 piece !!!!. 
Available in length up to 500m (5x100m) usually from stock.
Other custom lengths are available on request.

Application:
Framed 4-line kites, trick, precision, speed, competition.

Advantages:
extremely tight braid
extremely small diametre
impregnated and polished
Available in  bright yellow for high visibility
Some strengths are also available in  purple colour

CE

climax Extreme Yellow

Consider this the standard in kite lines (especially if you were looking for SPECTRA or DYNEEMA). This is the best all-round line you can find.
Available in strengths form 25daN/55lbs to 250daN/550lbs.
This line is impregnated.

Advantages:
Pre-Stretched to a maximum - near ZERO % stretch
Due the impregnation and polishing process this line is UV resistant, salt water resistant, colour fast and highly visible.
Available on 100m spools or on ready to fly pre-sleeved line sets on multi winder.

Note for 4 Line Traction Kiting: This line is well suited to be your entry level power line.
Select 2 pairs in different strengths to make up a 4- line set.

Lines on spools are available in multiples of 100m.
Lets say you require 300m in one length to share with a friend.
This is no problem as individual spools are connected with a continous lengths.
You would get 3 spools giving you a total of 300m in 1 piece !!! 
Available in length up to 5x100m from stock for strengths up to 160daN.

This Dyneema line is a low cost entry line.
At these prices there is no need to settle for stretchy Polyester or Dacron lines when used with beginner kites.
Ideal for the beginner or those that want to upgrade their line set without having to rob a bank.

Advantages:
Low friction and little stretch (near 0%).
Low cost due to a special braiding technique.
Available on 100m spools or on ready to fly pre-sleeved line sets on multi winder.

CB-YLO

climax Dyneema Basic Yellow

This Dyneema line is a low cost entry line.
At these prices there is no need to settle for stretchy Polyester or Dacron lines when used with beginner kites.
Ideal for the beginner or those that want to upgrade their line set without having to rob a bank.
